The Workshop is open as follows:

Our closing time depends on the number of members on-site at closing time and the prior commitments of the Duty Manger.
There is two hour parking in Hilcot Road and the roads around the workshop. We have permission to use the Tesco car park for parking (up to 3hrs). This is accessed via Portman Road.
Reading Buses are very frequent along the Oxford Road. Routes 15, 16 and 17 all stop in front of the Battle Library.
This shed sounds great, but it is a shame it is not open in the evenings or at weekends. It would be good to come along, but just not possible for me during normal working hours.
The aim of the charity is to combate social isolation in older men so we fixed our hours to when we felt we would do most good. Parking would also be a problem as the streets around here are a nightmare to find a space between 6.00pm and 7:00 am. We have good relationship with our neighbours and would not want to jeopardise that. If we move this may be a option.

I have just suffered a stroke but still fortunately have quite a lot of movement. I’m only 55 but would really like to be able to try my hand at woodwork. Is it okay for me to come along & join you?

Unfortunately being a woman in her early 50s and working through the week, this isn’t for me. But can you recommend any wood workshops available in Berkshire area? Yours very hopefully.

In general Men’s Sheds are only open during the working week. There a couple of linked sheds in Basingstoke who are open to lady members and open late afternoon and early evening. See: https://basingstokeshed.org.uk
