A Men\u2019s Shed is a larger version of the typical man\u2019s shed in the garden \u2013 a place where he feels at home and pursues practical interests with a high degree of autonomy. A Men\u2019s Shed offers this to a group of such men where members share the tools and resources they need to work on projects of their own choosing at their own pace and in a safe, friendly and inclusive venue. They are places of skill-sharing and informal learning, of individual pursuits and community projects, of purpose, achievement and social interaction. A place of leisure where men come together to work.<\/p>\n

Reading Men’s Shed is based at The Silvers\u2019 Workshop and is located in Reading. We opened in January 2015 at Jacksons\u2019 Corner and moved to Hilcot Road, close to Oxford Road, Reading, in August 2015. We have an accessible workshop area, good wood-working tools (including power tools), a good stock of hard and soft woods, and some metal-working tools. But members are not limited to these areas, and can work on whatever they want. The Shed has always, and will continue to evolve according to the members\u2019 wishes.<\/p>\n
